Sandra "Sandi" Williams
July 12, 1945 ~ January 10 2017

Sandra K. "Sandi" (Drew) Williams, age 71, of Erie, passed away at UPMC Hamot, on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Sandi was born in Erie, Pa., on July 12, 1945, a daughter of the late Milton A. and Edna Moultrie Drew.

Sandi was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School and later attended evening classes at Tech Memorial High School.

Sandi worked at Hamot Hospital as a EKG Technician for many years. Sandi also worked at the Gertrude A. Barber Center as a Secretary in Residential Services, Training Department, Health Services and Receptionist; she was considered a counselor to many and a mother figure to most for over 30 years, retiring in January 2011.

During her life, Sandi was an active member of Henderson United Methodist Church, she loved scrapbooking, sewing, reading, traveling and bowling for many years with her beloved husband Carl, to whom she was married for over 50 years.

Sandi was full of life, loving, caring, kind-hearted and a virtuous woman. Sandi's husband and family meant the world to her and it showed in her kindness to them as well as to others. She was very humble and loving, willing to give when and where she could. She loved to get together with her friends and family for a good time or bad and was always willing to go when she was able. Sandi traveled to many states in the United States with her husband. When he ran marathons, she was his sidekick and number one cheerleader through thick and thin. Sandi endured so much but she never gave up or gave in. She had a heart of Gold.

Sandi is gone from this earth but she will never be gone from our hearts. Sandi was Carl's Queen and was our own angel here on earth; she has now earned her Heavenly crown and wings, and will watch over us as she always did in life.

In addition to her parents Sandi was preceded in death by a granddaughter Emma Kurelowech and by four brothers
John M. Drew, DeVere G. Drew, Ronald R. Drew and Gerald Drew and two sisters Helen R. Drew and Nancy F. Drew.

Sandi leaves to cherish her memory her husband Carl R. Williams, three children Carla Kurelowech (Darin), Cheryl Williams-Witherspoon, and Christopher Williams (Amy), all of Erie, seven grandchildren Jonathan Atkinson, her Princess Sydney Williams, Michael, Matthew, Joseph, Daniel and Lucas Kurelowech, and her little Prince Chandler Williams, six siblings Marianne Chenault of Beaufort, S.C., Asa Drew (Diane) of El Cerrito, Calif., Jeanne Effinger of Beaufort, S.C., Barry Drew (Marcia) of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Cynthia Drew and Valerie Brewer, both of Erie, brothers and sisters-in-law Frances Moyer, Willie Williams (Inez) of Erie, Dora Goins of Oxon Hill, Md., Dorothy Johnson of Luray, Va., Catherine Drew, Viola Pearson, both of Erie, Peggy Brooks (Willie) of Luray, Va., Helen Stapp (James), Betty Williams and Barbara Drew, all of Erie, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, and a host of friends also remain.

Sandi is laid to rest at  Lakeside Cemetery.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

At church today Sydney mentioned that you and Carl were celebrating an anniversary.

Everyone misses you.  Although you are with our Lord, and we know you are fine, those you have left on Earth think of you daily.

Sandi, I wanted to tell you how wonderful it was at church today,

Carl read the scripture, I always like when Carl reads or preaches. Your family misses you, I know you can see them and
what they are feeling. Chandler is struggling to understand why his nana isn't here.
The whole church will be with your family and get them through this difficult time.
