My condolences to the Crotty family on Mike's passing. A young leader has been taken from us far too early. The fire service has lost a brother and we ache from his loss. God bless Mike for all he did and what he accomplished in his short time on earth. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Crotty family, and the Lawrence Park and Erie Fire Departments on their loss.

A man living his dream, loving life and always helping others around him. Mike was always there to give a hand, step up when needed or to make you smile when you felt there was nothing to smile about. A truely professional Fireman who sacrificed his life doing what he loved . He paid the ultimate sacrifice giving his life to protect others, for that he will always be a HERO!

To the Crotty family, my condolences go out to all Mike's family and friends. Mike was and will always be my best friend, he was like a brother. He was such a great person with a positive and caring character, always willing and wanting to help. He lived to fight fires and got excited every time the alarm sounded. He has impacted a lot of people in his 24 years and will continue to have a positive impact on the fire department with his training tower visions. We all must come together to make sure his dream training tower is constructed and dedicated in his honor. If there was one person I wanted to fight a fire with it was Mike. We shared lots of great memories both in and outside the fire department. I will never forget his last alarm on 04/08/08. Mike will be there watching over all of us as we continue his passion in the public safety sector. Love, Joey
