Edward J. Madara, age 62, of Erie, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012.
He was born in Erie on March 15, 1950, son of the late Jack and Stella Madara.
Ed enjoyed fishing, playing the lottery and bingo, and volunteered as a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army.
He was an unselfish and caring person.
Ed is survived by two sisters, Frances Britton and Cathy Burkett; one brother, Arthur Madara; five nieces and three nephews.
Laid to rest at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

Walking at the cemetery today I saw the plaque with Eddie's name on it. I said No Way.  It was a shock to me.
The Madara's were a huge part of my teen years. Cathy and husband Tom were good friends.
Franny and Eddie were nice to me, a pesty friend of their sister.
Their mom and dad always welcomed me into their home. They left the neighborhood and I am still here.
Please know that Eddie will always have a place at Life Ever After.
Margaret

I can not believe I won't see Ed at the store anymore or walking around yelling my name every time he saw me out.
He knew how to make me laugh and always concerned on how I was and when he was going to get a ride in my red car...
You will be missed by many and kept close to our hearts, you were more then just a family friend, more like family. God bless.

Rich and I have known Ed since 1997. He was a regular customer at our store on East 13 Street and a former tenant as well.
He was a kind and thoughtful man who did many favors to help out anyone he could.
We can not even imagine the neighborhood without him there. Go with God, Ed.
