Clyde Edward Williams, 77, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Kent Community Hospital, in Grand Rapids, Mich.

He was born in Luray, Va., on March 17, 1937, the son of the late Willie and Dorothy Williams. Clyde served as a paratrooper in the United States Army, during the Korean War. In 1998, after many years of service, he retired from Riley Stoker Corp. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters Mildred Jean and Ruth Ann Williams and Barbara Rieves, as well as one brother James Stewart Williams.

 He survived by two daughters Laronda and Shaunika Williams, sons Clyde Edward Williams Jr., and Montrey Williams, both of Erie.
He further leaves to cherish his memory nine sisters Frances Moyer (Nathan) Janas Burton, Viola Pearson (David), Catherina Drew, Deacon Helen Stapp (Rev. James Stapp Jr.) and Betty Williams, all of Erie, Dora Goins of Oxon Hill, Md., Dorothy Johnson, Elder Peggy Brooks (Bill), both of Laray, Va., two brothers Willie (Inez) and Carl (Sandra) Williams of Erie, former wife Chestoria Williams, and a special friend Bessie Crockett, also several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to a "Homegoing Celebration" on May 24, 2014 at 1 p.m., at The New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 2201 Parade St., Erie, Pa. Services will be conducted by Rev. James Stapp Jr., Pastor of the New Generation Ministries.
