Rev. James McCormick, Pastor of St. James R. C. Church, officiated.

Afterglow

I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways
of happy times and laughing
times and bright and sunny days.

I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
of happy memories that I leave
when life is done.

I have only had the pleasure of knowing Carl for a few years, though he is an old a dear friend to my wife Barbie (Murray).
He was definitely a person who found joy in making others happy, to bring a smile to your face, and more often to make you laugh. Just a genuine good person who will be missed by everyone who's lives he touched. My heart felt condolences go out to all of you, and most especially to Carl's family, who he loved so dearly, and to you his closest friends that he held dear to his heart. I cannot imagine the pain that you are feeling today. I know that all of you have many happy memories of times that you shared with Carl, and I hope that those memories will help you to get through this most difficult time. Rest in peace Carl.

I did not know him that well but I met him two years ago down at camp.
I can say it was a great time with him especially when his canoe tips over and he takes an unexpected swim.
He was a fun guy to talk to and was funny. I wish I would of known him sooner. He will be missed.
